WHAT IS A LARP?
In a Live Action Role-Playing game (commonly known as LARP) participants assume the identity of a fictional character for a pre-determined period of time.
It is very much like being in a play, except that no scripts are used – each episode is improvised. Our LARP is based off of the WhiteWolf Studios, Inc. game Vampire: The Masquerade; therefore, the majority of our players role-play supernatural creatures, such as vampires and ghouls. The game focuses on the emotional conflict between the human and vampire aspects of a Character’s existence; as well as the conflict between the Characters and their environment.
Each player designs his or her character with the assistance of a set of rules — a process is called Character Generation – and plays the Character in the game using the rules outlined in the WhiteWolf book Laws of the Night. Our Storytelling Team reserves the right to change any of these rules to suit our games needs and will publish these on this web site and in our game Source Book. Almost anyone with a creative imagination, a love of gothic literature, and some acting ability can participate in a LARP successfully.
